TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

 

Purpose Statement

The job of Transportation Coordinator was established for the purpose/s of supervising student transportation services and activities; overseeing assigned personnel; providing information to others; and scheduling work assignments.

This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics: support systems required to meet the transportation operation scheduling demands; providing resource information from a variety of sources; and collecting and referring information relating to transportation system operations, providing support within the student transportation services area with specific responsibilities for monitoring the.

Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and/or across several small work units; and tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization’s services.

 

 

Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 75% sitting, 15% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes.

 

Experience Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
