ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL


GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Quillayute Valley School District is located in the City of Forks on the North Olympic Peninsula. The school district encompasses a wide area, extending from just south of Lake Crescent to just north of Kalaloch. The greater community of Forks is tremendously supportive of education and its schools. Forks Elementary offers Preschool through 4th grade serving approximately 350 students in a School-wide Title One model. The school offers Early Childhood Education Assistance Program (ECEAP), Transitional Kindergarten, Full-day Kindergarten, and a strong multi-lingual program.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Washington State Administrator Education Certificate with Principal Endorsement
  • Three years of teaching experience required at desired school level; five years preferred
  • Successful leadership experience for 3-5 years as a school administrator or comparable administrative/supervisory responsibility preferred.


EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Exhibit a strong belief system in respect, integrity, and commitment
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the District administrators to coordinate programs and activities within a K-12 systems approach
  • Assist with the planning of all programs, actively supporting the District Vision and A, B, C Plan
  • Create a safe environment and welcoming school environment for all students, parents, and staff
  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate the instructional and guidance programs of the school within an RTI framework
  • Exhibit knowledge and expertise in Special Programs, such as Title One, Special Education, and English Language Learners
  • Direct and evaluate the work of all assigned personnel, using the Teacher Principal Evaluation Project model for certificated staff
  • Facilitate the School Improvement Team to implement research-based practices to improve student growth and reduce the achievement gap.
  • Conduct teachers’ meetings and professional development activities for discussion of methods of teaching, discipline, and management, and for consideration of other plans for the improvement of the work of the school.
  • Be responsible for all co-curricular activities that take place within the building
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools

 

CONTRACT:

  • 210-day contract for the 2024/25 School Year

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting at $136,345.00 depending on experience
